Assisting
a Groundbreaking KCET-TV Series
NexCare Collaborative worked
closely with KCET-TV on their groundbreaking television series,
“A Place of Our Own.”
(July
2005) NexCare Collaborative was selected by KCET-TV (Public
Broadcasting television in Los Angeles) to be the recipient of viewer
calls from the broadcast of their influential television series
for parents and caregivers, “A
Place of Our Own”.
“A Place of our Own (and "Los Ninos
en Su Casa" in Spanish) is a daily television series devoted
to the unique needs of the people who care for children. Family,
friends and neighbors — everyone who takes care of young children
— are child care providers. Every interaction and every activity
of these adults with their charges provide valuable opportunities
to help children learn and grow. “A Place of Our Own”
shares ways for viewers to help children acquire cognitive, social,
emotional and physical skills, as well as nurture language and literacy
development.
NexCare Collaborative’s phone number was
displayed and utilized during each show to provide viewers who call
with content support, resources and referrals regarding each show’s
particular topic or any other related issues that callers may present.
Viewers are urged to phone NexCare Collaborative to obtain further
information relative to each segment’s respective topic
Additionally, NexCare Collaborative created an
outboard telephone program in conjunction with KCET to learn more
about the demographic and psychographic profiles of viewers of “A
Place of Our Own” who phoned NexCare Collaborative.
